Aston Martin V12 Primary
Catalytic Converter Failure
VH Platform Aston Martin V12 models manufactured between from 2005 to 2018 comprising of the V12 Vantage, DB9, DBS, Vanquish and Rapide.
These models can suffer primary catalytic converter failure, sometimes without obvious early warning signs.
AHM Aston Martin Care Hampshire, can inspect and diagnose suspected primary cat problems using specialist knowledge, AMDS diagnostics and endoscope inspection, helping owners understand the condition of the catalytic converter cores before furtherdamage occurs.
In worse cases the broken pieces of the catalytic converter get drawn back into the cylinders. This usually happens during valve "scavenging," destroying the engine. It is a rare but a catastrophic issue.
In the early stages just a fine dust is drawn in from the failing Catalytic Converter.
Over time if left untreated, this courses wears to the cylinder bores.
Certain pre-2018 Aston Martin V12 models can suffer failure of the primary catalytic converter cores. When this happens, the internal material within the converter can begin to deteriorate, creating a risk that debris may affect the engine over time if the issue is not identified and addressed early.
